ACM Multimedia 2025 runs a number of Grand Challenges, which request participants to solve problems of interest to the multimedia community. An overview of challenges with their abstracts and corresponding links can be found here: https://acmmm2025.org/grand-challenge/
Every challenge has a different focus and own set of rules, so please check their websites thoroughly. For most challenges, the schedule is as follows:
- Challenge organisers provide a problem and optionally a dataset.
- Participants work on the problem and submit evaluation results according to the deadline.
- Challenge organisers evaluate the results of all participants.
- Challenge organisers write an intro (2 pages) or overview paper (6 pages) of the challenge and invite the top-3 performing teams to submit a technical paper (6+2 pages) via their submission system (or simply by email), which will be peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings of ACM Multimedia 2025.
However, since this is very challenge-dependent, there will be deviations from that schedule. Please refer to the corresponding websites of grand challenges to find out the concrete details.
